The ITA creates The
TV Fraternity Song
The Chorus of the Creators
The Indian Television
Academy has created a TV Fraternity Song, which
celebrates the Glory of Television. It is a Paean in the
praise of the Medium that has really come of age, here.
Television, today, has an identity of its own and is no
more a mere appendage of the Behemoth of Cinema.
Today, it creates a
tapestry of high – voltage emotions; unbounded surges of
Music & Dance and electrifying immediacy of News &
Reporting. The Creators of this tapestry are household
names, in the Country. These are the Directors and
Writers who create unforgettable characters… and the
Artistes who give flesh to these characters – all
combining to give a captivating viewing experience to
the audience.
In this Song, these
creators appear and sing in unison about the scale &
sweep and the Élan & Aplomb of Television. Hence, it
also underscores the camaraderie of the TV fraternity.
It is the first time
ever that 79 luminaries have figured together to sing
the Anthem of TV that has been written by the inimitable
Javed Akhtar, set to music by Shankar, Ehsan and Loy and
directed with loads of technical panache by Ken Ghosh.
The band of
participants in the Song has names like Shatrughan Sinha,
Jackie Shroff, Poonam Dhillon, Shekhar Suman, Javed
Akhtar, Mahesh Bhatt, Pankaj Kapoor, Kanwaljeet Singh,
Neena Gupta, Rakesh Bedi, Priya Tendulkar, Mukesh Khanna,
Archana Puran Singh, Annu Kapoor, Sudhir Pandey, Pallavi
Joshi, Renuka Shahane, Sandhya Mridul, Rohit Roy, Mansi
Joshi Roy, Niki Aneja, Achint Kaur, Pooja Madan etc.
It also features
ensemble Cast from popular Serial like Kyon Ki Saas Bhi
Kabhi Bahu Thi, Amanat, et al, besides VJ’s from the
various Music Channels – all crooning the Song in
unison.
HMV has joined hands
with the Academy to produce a CD of this Number. It will
also have the famous title tracks from Serials of great
renown, which have carved a niche for themselves in the
collective memory of the TV viewers, here.
All the prominent
Channels have agreed to play this Song with optimum
frequency. This will make the viewers savour the
sumptuousness of Television again and again as they see
it coming from the Creators, themselves.
In sum, this Song is
a Mosaic of the Medium… a Chorus of its Creators! |
