On the 8th March, 2007, a unique splash was created at the Aromas of China, Andheri (W), Mumbai. It was the annual bash thrown by Ms. Anu Ranjan to commemorate the International Women’s Day. For the last six years, this eve of the Eves is organised regularly to create an occasion of great abandon and joy for a hand-picked assembly of women from all walks of life.

Says Anu Ranjan, ‘The spectrum of women attending is truly comprehensive and broad- based’. We have there a bevy of personalities that range from Housewives to Artistes to Professionals and so on. And together, we celebrate Womanhood with unadulterated fun and frolic, partying to the hilt. It is high time women had such joyous and exclusive moments amongst themselves and certainly, the International Women’s Day is the most apt for this. Hence, this party is the proper climactic point of the string of measures we have undertaken this year by way of the ‘GR8! Women Awards’ and the ‘beti’ movement to spread awareness against the evil of Female Foeticide, rampant all across our society’.

Hence, the night come alive on Thursday when all of those assembled devoted the evening to the glory of their gender and uproariously jigged and jived till the wee hours of the next morning. Amongst those who attended were, to name a few, (in alphabetical order):
