The Event
It was a night like no other night, when the Stars sizzled and burst out on a humongous set that recreated the fantasia of Egyptian magic on it. People were agape at the fantastically lit structure before them and marvelled at the Egyptian motifs.

And that was just not all! The evening had much more to offer! There were dazzling Items put up by some of the hottest TV stars. The first one was the zingy and zappy ‘Couples’ Act’, wherein swinging couples like Varun & Rajeshwari Badola and Sai & Shakti Anand swayed to the chartbusters like, ‘Ada’, ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’, ‘Dil Mein Baji Guitar’ etc.

Then, there was the ‘Item Girls’ act, in which Nigar Khan, Kamya Punjabi, Jasweer Kaur and Karishma Tanna shook the audience with ‘Choli ke peechhe’, ‘Beedi jalaye le’ and other such raunchy and earthy numbers.

In the same vein was the catty medley done by Shweta Salve with Chaitanya Chaudhary & Chetan Hansraj, sashaying through ‘Piya tu ab to aaja’, ‘Mera naam hai Shabbo’, ‘Ye mera dil’ etc.

There was also an ‘Item Boys’ act with Rohit Roy making a thunderous entry with ‘Main hoon don’ along with Karishma Tanna, followed by Karan Wahi and Jasweer Kaur.

The Rock n’ Roll act was absolutely rocking with hunks like Sudhanshu Pandey, Kushal Punjabi matching steps with sultry sirens like Shama Sikandar and Mouly Ganguli.

Besides these, there was also a hilarious Spoof, ‘Boss ki Dhauns’, in which Sushmita Mukherjee, Bhavana Balsawar, Sooraj Thapar, Rajiv Paul, Aanchal Dwivedi, Ashiesh Roy, Iqbal Azad and Shalini Kapoor created a laugh-riot.

Says the ITA President, Anu Ranjan, ‘Indeed, we are proud of the fact that the HHITA Awards have become an Annual Festival of joy for the Industry and the response of the entire TV-fraternity is electric, as can be seen with this tremendous presence and participation of the who’s who of Television in here.’

Shashi Ranjan, Convenor, ITA further elaborates, ‘Creating an Award is one thing, bonding it with the fraternity for whom it has been created, is another. This is where the ITA has scored with flying colours. Today, the HHITA Awards are well and truly of Television, for Television, by Television…!’

In sum, Television, on that evening, got some more sheen to itself by this scintillating Event of high-octane pageantry.
