Usha Dixit the writer is one ambitious lady who has also done direction in the past. However, with the changing times and needs she had to stick to writing screenplay and dialogues which too she does with passion. But recently when she got an opportunity to direct she took it up and the result was a wonderful story Prem Patra on DD1’s Aur Ek Katha produced by Manju Singh.
Usha’s got to take on direction seriously. But she has her own take on this, “Daily shows ne mere jaise director ko bekaar kar diya. Thanks a ton for the every encouraging response. My cell has been ringing non stop…” She was obviously feeling on top of the world and we truly wish she stays that way! |

Simple Kaul is overjoyed to play Sameera in Twinkle Beauty Parlour. The on screen parlour is based in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi and Simple got the offer when she was in Delhi to meet her family and as she was passing the actual Lajpat Nagar was when she received the call. She never had to give an audition for the role and was summoned immediately to join the cast in Mumbai which she did. Well the coincidence does not end here…Simple’s real life sister’s name is Twinkle, so she feels she was destined to be a part of Twinkle Beauty Parlour. |

Veteran actress Achala Sachdev had an accident recently on the Mumbai-Pune expressway. The mishap had occurred due to a burst tyre. She sustained minor injuries but was in a state of shock and had been advised rest. GR8! wishes her a speedy recovery. |

Maaninee Mishra who has incidentally added an extra ‘a’ in her name besides acting is keeping busy doing charity. She has taken up the cause of educating Mumbai’s street children. An NGO conducts a street school for poor children every morning on a pavement near her home. Maaninee plans to teach the kids English, Hindi and Maths once a week. While she prepares herself for that, she’s also busy writing articles about them which she plans to get printed soon once her research is over. |

Kiran Karamarkar, is back on his feet and busy shooting for JD Majethia’s new show and Bhavna’s new play. Having recovered from dengue he seems to have lost weight which is making him look younger. And as usual he is fast becoming a source of entertainment on the sets. |
