Wet & Wild…
The Rains are coming… the Rains are coming…

A glance at the horizon would tell you that the season is hurtling towards when the clouds will hold the skies captive, when twigs will swing in the showers and when the days would be murky and the nights knifed by the lightning…

Ah, to be in the rains!
It’s ethereal!

There have been ‘n’ numbers of folklores, love-legends and mythos that have been built around the Rains. In many a lore, the Woodpecker with its red-colour (Heavenly fire!) and constant hammering (signifying Thunders) is the harbinger of Rains, while in some other yarns, it’s the Seagull, who only seems to show up when the skies are grey, that heralds the Rains!

By myths apart, the incontrovertible fact is that Rains are a season that turns you on as nothing else can on the planet. Rains and Romance are actually synonyms of each other. That’s how it has come to find pride of place in the collective imagination of those delving in creativity. In literature, from Kalidas to whomever, the Rains have been the ultimate in Romance. On the screen, Raining scenes have enthralled generations of moviegoers from ‘Pyaar Hua, Iqraar Hua…’ (Shri 420 – 1955) to ‘Paani Re Paani…’ (Shor – 1972) to ‘Yeh Baarish Hai Boondon Ki…’ (Fanaa – 2006) to whatever…!

Trust us, sheer bliss is that wet ambience when in the constant pours, one runs to the arms of one’s beloved, soaked to the extreme in the water-logged meadows. The showers glisten down the contours of the face to a heavily heaving bosom and further on. The stray drops rest on the quivering lips and some others on the shut out lids of the eyes.

And two wet bodies melt into each other – it’s magic!

Since the Woodpeckers can already be heard hammering and Seagulls are being sighted on the clouded horizons of the sea – the tidings are loud and clear –
The Rains are coming… The Rains are coming…!

And that triggered a halchal in the GR8! skulls!

Pronto came the verdict – ‘All hands on the deck! Create a Wet & Wild Romance for the ones most precious to our hearts – the GR8! Readers!’ And before we moved, came the parting shot – ‘Pull no punches, people!’

We didn’t! We went all guns blazing… brainstorming the concept, arranging the shoot wherewithal, choosing the dude and the doll…
