Couple capers!
Couple capers!
When proud hubby Hussain Kuwajerwala threw a birthday bash for adorable wife Tina, all the other television couples joined in the celebrations too!
Looking hot in a sizzling red dress, Tina played the perfect birthday gal by cutting the cake at midnight, enjoying herself, and making sure no one else had a reason to complain either!

 The party could well have been for “couples only”, going by the sheer number of twosomes present! The list included Gauri and Hiten Tejwani, Sanjeeda Shaikh and Aamir Ali, Delnaz and Rajiv Paul, Shilpa and Apoorva Agnihotri, Gauri and
Yash Tonk, and many, many others.
 Those who went party-hopping that night and reached Tina’s birthday after attending Rajan Shahi’s success bash included Kirti and Sharad Kelkar, Pooja Ghai and Vikas Kalantri, and Anu and Shashi Ranjan. Phew!
 Juhi Parmar and Sachin Shroff, who’d just returned from their honeymoon to New Zealand, made a grand late entry.
 Mouni Roy and Gaurav Chopra spoke more to other people than to each other!
 While Tanaaz and Bakhtyaar Irani preferred to stick to each other only!
 Also present were Amita Chandekar and Karan Patel. And like everyone else, we were also confused ke kuch chal raha hai ki nahi…?! So we asked Karan to comment on the status of their relationship and he said, “We’re no longer into a relationship, but yes, we are still very good friends.” Right!
 It was interesting to see Hussain’s good friend Shraddha Nigam (in a stunning yellow dress) turn up without hubby
Karan Singh Grover for once (while he prevented us his jhalak and chose to practise strenuous dance steps instead?!)
 However, the surprise stag of the eve was surely Ritesh Deshmukh! When asked what he was doing there, he candidly admitted, “Tina and I are college friends and have known each other since the past 18 years, i.e. from 1995. She’s a great friend and I wish her and Hussain all the best!” So do we buddy!

Shukravaar ki raat, sitaron ke saath!
Shukravaar ki raat, sitaron ke saath!

I
n times when shows are being pulled off air within weeks of their launch, a 100 episode completion sure calls for celebration! And thus you had the entire cast of Miley Jab Hum Tum turn up to celebrate the occasion at ‘Rio’ recently. The youth show based in a college has not only achieved mass popularity but also reached the top slot on Star One, all thanks to its parallel love stories and college-days masti!

 The party actually started on time and proved ‘Ladies first’ to be a fallacy, for the show’s two male leads, Arjun Bijlani and Mohit Sehgal, were the first to arrive. Arjun came in with his hand plastered. And while we thought it was in keeping with the show’s storyline, we were shocked to discover that he had fractured his hand for real!
 Jas Karan came in with his girlfriend by his side. Incidentally, Jas is also Karan Singh Grover’s brother!
 The late-comers also comprised Kishwer Merchant (who’s recently entered the show) and Megha Gupta. Megha Gupta came in with a mystery man (and not her baliye Naman Shaw), giving rise to speculation that all is not well in ‘love paradise’!
 Mohit, Arjun and Sanaya had a ball on the dance floor, while Rati joined in with Navina later. Mohit, who was in ‘high spirits’, was so excited to hear ‘Beedi jalai le’ that he was ready to run from an interview, only to be halted by Sanaya.
 After starters and drinks came the best bit of the night – the Hiley Jab Hum Tum awards, given away to all the cast and crew members! Some of them were: Bolti Bandh-Rati Pandey, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham-Arjun Bijlani, Dard-E-Kanghi-Mohit Sehgal and Kaale Ghane Baal-Sanaya Irani. Meanwhile, the presents they received varied from cello tape and tissue paper to a comb and wig, respectively!

Shahi Daawat for success!
Shahi Daawat for success!

T
hey say every dark cloud has a silver lining. And thus in these ‘low and slow’ times, the success of Rajan Shahi’s shows is certainly something to celebrate about, which is just what the ace producer did by throwing a shahi daawat for his cast, crew, friends and well-wishers recently.

Even as Bidaai retains its top position and popularity, Rajan’s new show - Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, is not too far behind either. It emerged in the top three TRP shows within days of its launch, and has sustained that position ever since, recently even beating Bidaai to the numero uno slot.

The occasion obviously called for a celebration what with these two being the first two shows to be produced by Rajan’s production house – Director’s Kut, which began just a little more than an year ago!

The producers’ good will was clearly reflected in the huge turn out of the television fraternity. On his part, Rajan was a gracious host, attending to everybody personally, before leading the way for the cake-cutting.

 Actress Seema Kapoor was among the first to arrive with husband Amit.
 It was nice to see Rajan introducing the guests to his mother. His daughter Ishika was also present on daddy’s big day.
 Sara Khan, looking the exact opposite of her screen image (the sari clad Sadhna) in a little black number, came in with boyfriend
Ali Merchant.
 Parul Chauhan came fashionably late yet straight from the sets of Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa 3, sporting a bandage on her foot.
 Angad Hasija and Kinshuk Mahajan were among the late comers. Kinshuk was overheard discussing the dream house he’s recently purchased on the 27th floor of an apartment block in Mumbai.
 Lataa Saberwal and Hina Khan, who play mother-daughter in Yeh Rishta…, could have passed off as sisters, dressed as they were in black.
 Karan Mehra, aka Naitik in Yeh Rishta…, surprised everybody by coming in with his girlfriend Nisha Rawal, herself an actress (starred opposite Jimmy Shergill in Hastey Hastey).
 A fit looking Amar Upadhyay made a rare appearance with wife Hethal.
 Vikas Kalantri and Pooja Ghai turned up in the same colour!
 Nikhil Arya and Moon Sen came together, giving rise to speculation that there is more to the “friendship” than what meets the eye.
 Gaurav Gera and Rajesh Khera, both from the Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin team, not only entered together, but were also dressed alike in blue jeans and cream shirt!
 Jayati Bhatia was seen hunting for a friend who got lost in the crowd.
 Aruna Irani, who’s never been much of a party person, made a rare appearance with hubby Kuku Kohli, and was seen discussing her show Naagin going off air from Zee TV.
 Who says there are no well-wishers in the fraternity? Producers
JD Majethia and Aatish Kapadia came with their families to wish Rajan on his success.
 The other celebrities we spotted included Anuj Saxena, Alok Nath, Ashita Dhawan, Sanjiv Seth, Ather Habib, Anang Desai, Yatin Karekar, Vishwas Pandya with wife Prachi, Romit Raj, Manish Nagdev, Jaswir Kaur, Kartik Sabharwal, Anu and Shashi Ranjan, Mona Wasu, Mahesh Thakur, Tanushree and Vineet Raina, Reeta Bhaduri, Vishal Singh, and Shristhi Arya, among others.
