Barkha Bisht and Indraneil Sengupta’s much awaited D-Day had everything it takes to make a marriage memorable.
Held in Barkha’s hometown Rourkee on March 2, the preparations had mainly to do with shopping, what with the couple’s hectic shooting schedules. So if Barkha’s sister came down from Colombo to help her in the act, Indraneil’s mum came from Ahmedabad to help Barkha shop.
Among the many pre-wedding functions, the sangeet was the runaway hit. For this is when Barkha put her dancing prowess into action by choreographing all the numbers and made all the guests join in the fun as well. In addition, she adds, “Neil hates dancing but I made him dance too, and it was too sweet of him to accompany me.”
The two wore colour co-ordinated clothes for their big day. While they wore blue on the sangeet, for the wedding, Barkha was draped in a gorgeous blue and orange dress whereas Indraneil looked like a prince in his blue sherwani. Needless to say, they made a striking couple. Regarding their choice of colour, Barkha says, “We didn’t want to wear the same good old wedding colours like cream and maroon, so we decided to wear something different. I like pink but Neil was reluctant to wear a pink sherwani, so we hit upon blue as both of us like it, and got designer Jerry D’Souza to do our dresses.”
The couple has recently come back from their honeymoon in Maldives and are now busy setting up a new home with love. We hope the magic lasts forever…

Success calls for celebration, and what better way to celebrate a successful show than having a wrap party? That’s just what Anu and Shashi Ranjan did to celebrate the fantastic response to their reality show – Mr & Ms TV, presented by Anushka Images.
The get-together was held at the Ranjan’s sprawling penthouse-terrace and a liberal dose of lamps, candles and flowers went on to make the evening picture perfect. On their part, Anu and Shashi were perfect hosts personified, attending personally to each guest.
The guest list meanwhile included the cast, crew and friends. So if Rohit, Sony, was among the first to enter with his wife, he was soon followed by Sonali and Roop Kumar Rathod. Miss TV Purbi Joshi came in next with pals Gaurav Gera, Kushal Punjabi and Chetan Hansraj, announcing to one and all how the men kept her waiting. They were joined by Leena and Kunal Bhandula, Ashoke Pundit and wife, Shailendra Singh, Karan Wahi, Madhur Bhandarkar, Shonali Nagrani, Priyanka Bassi and Vikas Manaktala (together again!). The late entrants included Rohit Roy and Manasi Joshi Roy as well as Sudhanshu Pandey and wife Mona, who was glowing with good news.
Conversation flowed easily over a sumptuous array of starters and drinks before the guests made their way for dinner. But, dinner did not diminish the fun as much leg pulling continued across the dinner table, making the night a memorable one.
• Black might as well had been the theme, for save for a few exceptions like Chetan Hansraj and Shashi Ranjan who sported white, most others played safe with black. So while Roop Kumar Rathod was in his traditional black kurta, Purbi looked her stunning self in an envious ‘little black dress’.
• ‘The Joshis can dance’, exclaimed a triumphant Purbi Joshi at the do. Following her cousin Manasi Joshi Roy’s early elimination from Nach Baliye 1 and her sister Ketaki Dave’s elimination from Nach Baliye 2, Purbi did her family proud by winning the Miss TV title and stunning one and all with her award-winning moves.
• One of the highlights of the eve was Gaurav and Purbi’s mimicry, which had everybody in splits. While Gaurav imitated a female singer, Purbi imitated everybody from item girls to actresses.

The grand finale of Amul Star Voice of India – Chhote Ustaad, was indeed grand, what with none other than superstar of the millennium, Amitabh Bachchan, being the chief guest at the star-studded event. Juhi Chawla, his Bhootnath co-star, joined him as India witnessed the final battle between Ahmedabad’s Aishwarya Majumdar and Kolkata’s Anwesha Dattagupta. After a journey of three months under the tutelage of judges Pritam Chakraborty, Shreya Ghosal and Kunal Ganjawala, the two power puff-finalists, with their power-packed performances, amazed everyone with not only their singing but also their dancing abilities. Finally, hosts for the evening, Shaan and Abhaas, called upon the judges to announce the winner. And the Big B created a memorable moment when he declared the winner to be, ‘My bahu Aishwarya.’
Aishwarya walked away with an exclusive singing contract from BIG music as well as a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh and a music scholarship from LIC. On the other hand, Anwesha won a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh as well as the music scholarship.
Talking about her win, Aishwarya says, “It feels really great having won the competition. I don’t think the competition was tough at all, it was quite easy. It felt really nice interacting with Mr. Bachchan, he’s very sweet and I liked it when he called me his bahu. It felt awesome receiving an award from him. These days I’m just busy giving interviews and meeting all my friends and family; they’re all very happy for me. All the judges were also really good, but I find Pritam sir to be very cute. I want to do playback for all the actresses and as of now I’ve recorded for Dil Mil Gaye.”

He is also allied with Future Group, a division of Pantaloon Retail India Limited and Big Bazaar whereby he offers numerology consultancy to their esteemed clients and other public on demand.
Body copy: In the hustle and bustle of the television industry with its odd working hours, in-between churning out episode after episode non-stop, to meeting deadlines and the race for matching TRPs, some celebrity TV actors have managed to find ‘time for love’.
Noted astro numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi predicts the future of some ‘love struck’ couples of tellyland.
Rajeev Khandelwal & Aamna Shariff: Born on 16th October, 1975, Rajeev is a No.7 (1 + 6 = 7) person in numerology ruled by Nos.2 & 7 (Moon & Neptune), Nos.6 & 8 (Venus & Saturn - Libra) & also No.3 (Jupiter – 1 + 6 + 1 + 0 + 1 + 9 + 7 + 5 = 30 = 3 + 0 = 3). Incidentally, the gorgeous Aamna Shariff is also a No.7 (Born on 16th July 1982) ruled by Nos.2 & 7 (Moon & Neptune) not once, twice but thrice. She is a Cancerian (Ruler – Moon & Neptune – No.7) & her destiny number also adds up on the same number. When two number 7’s come together in terms of marriage or partnership – a ‘perfect understanding’ is observed between them. They love each other’s company & even if there is some difference of opinion at times, it is negligible.
Currently in his 33rd year, it is definitely right time for the ringing bells (read: marriage) for Rajeev. So is next year. (If he needs some more time to think ). Wearing a Yellow Sapphire set in gold will just do the trick. As for Aamna - a highly creative but a moody personality passing through her 26th year, is not in a correct frame of mind to decide for anything but a step in this direction is not a wrong one for sure. Wearing a combination of a Pearl & Cat’s Eye will definitely help remove negative thoughts /energy around her & attain mental peace.
