500,and going strong...

he occasion was the completion of 500 episodes of
Dheeraj Kumar’s popular soaps - Maayka and Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan, on Zee TV. The hosts of the evening, Dheeraj Kumar and wife Zuby Kochchar were the first to arrive at the venue and made sure that the arrangements were in place, before playing gracious hosts to the guests who kept walking in till way past midnight.
…: Among the first ones to join the revelry were Arun Bali and an elegant looking Zarina Wahab.
Among the guests present at the do were the shows’ leads Romit Raj, Kanchi Kaul, Gunjan Walia, Kshitee Jog, newly weds Vinit Raina and Tanushree Kaushal, Pankaj Dheer, Alok Nath, and Karan Hukku, amongst many others.
Giving the do a miss were many prominent actors like Maayka’s lead Vivaan Bhatena, Romit’s ladylove Shilpa Shinde, and his on-screen ladylove in Ghar Ki… Jaswir Kaur.
While the entrance was beautifully decorated with flowers and satin curtains, inside, the shows’ title tracks were played in a continuous loop.
Anu Malik made an appearance for ‘Just A Minute’ and after getting some pictures clicked, left the venue.
Seen enjoying his own company was Gaurav Chopra who’d turned up without Mouni Roy, in a ripped jeans and a cute ponytail. While he didn’t interact much with the cast, he seemed to enjoy a lot of attention from women on the ‘greyer side’!
Rajshree Thakur turned up with hubby Sanjot Vaidya, and was later seen giving interviews.
Was Kanchi Kaul, who made heads turn with her sparkling skin, and a pretty white net dress.
After a sizeable audience had gathered, the videos of the two shows were played.
Romit Raj sure seemed to be everyone’s favourite, what with everyone cheering every time he appeared on screen. Later, someone from the party even compared his acting skills to those of SRK. Not bad, we say!
While Vinit Raina shied away from cheering for wife Tanushree Kaushal when her performances were showcased on the screen, Tanushree surely seemed very supportive of her hubby which was quite discernible when she clapped when Vinit was in the frame.
Karan ‘Hook’ooo!: Karan Hukku, in a black suit, sure seemed to be the man of the moment as he grabbed all the eyeballs. He was one guy who couldn’t stop his feet from matching to the thumping music. And in case you were wondering if he enjoyed all alone, let us tell you that he was dancing in the company of a mystery girl!
One of our late-night birdies informed us that the otherwise (or rather on-screen) simple and sweet Kshitee Jog was in ‘high spirits’ and was seen in a total whacky mood.
