Champagne Holi anyone?
Champagne Holi anyone?

T
he success party of Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo on Zee TV organized by Siddharth Tewary and Vikas Seth of Swastik Pictures was one splendid affair. Sudesh Berry, who was amongst the first to arrive, seemed to be having a good time as he mingled with all the guests, while Aroona Irani made sure that she did not leave before congratulating the entire cast and crew of the show. Others guests present included Giriraj Kamra, Pawan Shankar, Raj Zutshi, Deepak Tijori, Ajay Bhalwankar and Aditya Lakhia, among many others.

 The show’s lead, Ratan Rajput, who looked chic, smart, and completely unlike her onscreen character in a short brown dress, posed for the shutterbugs for half an hour before pleading the media to allow her to dance.

 Karan Hukku was seen enjoying the company of fellow actor Naman Shaw throughout. Guess the two hunks need to find a mate to dance with at parties!

 Pretty lady Sukirti Khandpal, who was earlier seen as Dr Ridhima in Dill Mill Gaye, made most women go green with envy, thanks to her sexy green dress. Unfortunately, the jovial gal quiet shied away from dancing.

 Karan Mehra, who was accompanied by wifey Devika, had a visible sore right eye. Just when we were wondering if it was due to the side-effects of shooting for hours, Devika told us that it was because of some dirt particle that troubled the actor.

 Surbhi Tiwari glowed in her white floral dress. And we guess that was a result of winning a Mhada flat in the lottery scheme. One lucky lady, we tell you!

 Whilst all this was on, the entire squad played ‘Champagne Holi’, pouring a substantial amount of champagne on each other!

O
n its first birthday, COLORS had a celebration so grand that it involved literally the entire nation! To commemorate its first anniversary, it ran a special ‘Shukriya India’ campaign which began in June and was running through the better part of July. Then in a party that involved people from over fifty cities, the channel did it all… cut cakes, met friends, spent time with fans, and spread some good birthday cheer by adopting schools in partnership with iDiscoveri. And after spreading cheer across the country, the channel was in for a big surprise back home in Mumbai where a special painting created for the occasion by Preeti Dmello and Rakesh Patnaik awaited them.

Preeti and Rakesh, inspired by the channel and its simple yet effective stories that have changed the face of Indian television, created a stimulating painting as a tribute to COLORS. The painting was unveiled at the Mumbai office of the channel amidst much fanfare by the representatives and the stars of the channel.

Discussing the painting, Preeti said, “Watching Colors reminds me of a colorful mosaic of our country and its success shows that the TV watching audience has a thinking brain and a conscience.” Accepting the present, Rameet Arora, Marketing Head of COLORS, added, “It is humbling to know how much people appreciate your efforts and encourage you to keep up the good work that you are doing. COLORS was able to cross a lot of milestones in its first year itself thanks to its millions of fans across the country.”

Present during the unveiling of the painting were artists Anandi (Avika Gor) and Sugna (Vibha Anand) of Balika Vadhu, Baby Krishna (Dhriti Bhatia) of Jai Shree Krishna, Vinay (Vishal Gandhi) and Bindiya (Richa Soni) of Bhagyavidhaata, Ichcha (Sparsh Khandchandani) and Tapasya (Ishita Panchal) of Uttaran, and Ammaji (Meghna Malik) of Laado. The stars, along with unveiling the painting, also signed their names on it to give it the official COLORS seal.

T
hat could well be the mantra of JD Majethia and Aatish Kapadia’s Hats Off Productions. For this was certainly true at the success bash of Shree, produced by the talented duo for ZEE TV. The popular supernatural thriller has been going great guns ever since its launch and it was to celebrate its success that JD and Aatish, accompanied by their wives Neepa and Alison, respectively, hosted a celebration bash for the entire cast and crew. Held at Tian in Juhu, Mumbai, the party turned out to be one grand affair.

• The celebrations began when JD and Aatish uncorked the champagne, and set the mood for the eve to follow.

• Their cast and crew joined them on the dance floor and really let their hair down. Those present included Rupa Devitia, Anang Desai, Jiten Lalwani, Shalmalee Tolye, Trishna Beltangady, Tanaaz Irani, Ujwal Chopra and Paresh Ganatra.

• Lead couple Wasna Ahmed and Pankaj Tiwari were among the last ones to enter. Needless to say, it didn’t take long for them to be encircled by the shutterbugs!

• Also present on the occasion were head honchos from ZEE TV – Nitin Vaidya, COO, Ajay Bhalwankar, programming head, and Sukesh Motwani, creative director, who were seen mingling over drinks and delicious starters.

• We were a trifle surprised to see Smita Bansal (of Balika Vadhu fame) at the do. Upon enquiring, we came to know that she was there with her husband Ankush Mohla, who is also the director of the show.

• Interestingly, we also caught JD discussing two new shows that they’ll be launching soon. While one is apparently a reality show, the other is a love story.

Michael Jackson The legend lives on…
Michael Jackson The legend lives on…

Michael Jackson is a legend who needs no introduction. The ‘King of Pop’ had been a music sensation since the age of eight, when his father Joseph Jackson had all five Jackson brothers form a music band called ‘Jackson 5’ with Michael as the lead singer. Widely considered the greatest pop star of all times, in the same league as the Beatles, Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan, Michael was known as much for his entertaining music videos as his extraordinary music. And thus, even though he is no more with us today, he will remain in our hearts forever.
