Are they or are they not? Since months now, handsome hunk Karan Kundra and attractive Kritika Kamra, the lead pair of NDTV Imagine’s Kitani Mohabbat Hai have kept everybody guessing about the status of their relationship. But instead of the rumours dying down over time, they have only gained steam with the news of the couple being in love gaining strength by the day. But ask the couple and they are quick to sidestep the story by saying that they’ll let us know if something happens. Well, don’t forget we’re still waiting, dahlings!

After the success of Times Now, the arrival of ET Now was eagerly awaited. And it finally went on air on June 22 as part of a phased rollout. Broadcast by Times Global Broadcasting Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd, which publishes The Economic Times, India’s largest business daily, ET Now will have the Economic Times advantage on TV. While the CEO of the channel will be Chintamani Rao, Rahul Joshi will be its editor. ET Now will be the fourth English business news channel in the country. Interestingly, just before the channel’s launch, CNBC TV18 forged a content alliance with HT Media’s business daily Mint. Needless to say, the battle begins!

For once, the ‘make-ups’ seem to outdo the ‘break-ups’ in the television fraternity. For just as we’d finished hearing that actor Raj Logani’s marriage is allegedly on the rocks, we also heard about the happy news of at least two TV weddings in the pipeline. First is line is the popular pair of Kkavyanjali – Anita Hassanandani and Ejaz Khan. While the two have always played hide-and-seek with regard to their romance, recently, they reportedly accepted their relationship and hinted that marriage may be on the cards. Meanwhile the other couple in love happens to be Kis Des Mein Hai Mera Dil’s Manav Vij and Vaishali Sachdev. Reportedly, the two lovebirds plan to tie the knot in the near future. Our heartiest congratulations to the couples… for whom the bells will toll!

Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega on Sony Entertainment Television had the viewers hooked within weeks of its launch. Its exciting format of showcasing different talents of the country and having a grand finale every Friday readily found favour with the Indian audience bored of ‘singing and dancing’ reality shows. Unfortunately, criticism followed close on the heels of success when some people made quick claims that the show seemed “similar” to Colors’ India’s Got Talent, which hadn’t even launched then. Now similar or not, it’s hard to deduce what is not copied on Indian television. So as long as the audience is entertained, we say…

Either through news channels, newspapers or news portals, you couldn’t have missed Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja being arrested for allegedly raping his “bai” while his wife and daughter were away. While, expectedly, the incident dominated news channels, what had the public calling us was the panel discussion comprising Flavia Agnes, Madhu Kishwar and Ashoke Pandit, anchored by Sagarika Ghosh. Reportedly, Sagarika’s question went something like… Do the accused and victim misuse the law pertaining to rape? We’re still trying to figure that one out. Just as we are trying to decipher Shiney’s wife Anupam’s statement that her husband was “raped”. Right! In place of the maid, shouldn’t Shiney have gone crying “rape” to the police then?!

Five year old Zaina Vastani of Zee TV’s Aap Ki Antara has already cause for sibling rivalry. For her twin sister Ziyah will be debuting in Percept Picture Company’s Bum Bum Bole. According to our sources, Ziyah is upset that hoardings with Zaina’s pictures are up all over Mumbai but not hers, while she started shooting much before. She has even stopped talking to poor Zaina. Last we heard, their mother had started taking them to each other’s sets so that they saw each other’s work and spent more time together! Phew! Haven’t heard this one before.

t is not often that a serial completes 1000 episodes and a four year run on the ‘daily’ changing telly screen. And thus it came as no surprise when the Barjatya family decided to host a grand celebration to mark the 1000 episode completion of their landmark show – Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, on SaharaOne Television.
• The venue of the recent celebration was the ethereal Iskcon Temple in Mumbai.
• The eve began with a pious puja, followed by cake-cutting and the screening of a one hour special episode.
• Present on the occasion was the entire cast and crew of the show with their respective families in addition to Kavita Barjatya and Sooraj Barjatya. Speaking on the occasion, Kavita Barjatya, Head-TV Division, Rajshri Productions Ltd, said, “Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki is our first TV show and it completing 1000 episodes is an extremely special moment for us.”
• The lead actors, Reena Kapoor and Karan Grover aka Kayjee, seemed in a jovial mood as they stood around giving interviews. Reena Kapoor said, “These four years of my life have been beautiful. I will keep on cherishing the memories of shooting for WRWMK always.”
• Aamir Ali, who used to star in the serial, was also present on the occasion. But we couldn’t help but notice the cold vibes between him and Kayjee.
• The other cast members present included Poonam Gulati, Bhairavi Raichura, Ankur Nayyar, Manoj Bidwai, Yashodhan Rana, Rita Bhaduri, Neha Desai, Ali Raza Namdar, Renuka Bondre, and Parth, among others.
• The guests included Anu Ranjan, Purnendu Shekhar, Rajev Paul, Mushtaq Sheikh, Anang Desai, and others.
• None present could stop raving about the excellent vegetarian fare available at the temple.
