Silent March - Mumbai Floods
On the 26th July, 06 The ITA carried out a procession in silence, at Juhu, Mumbai.
This was in the memory of the sufferance that Mumbai was subjected to on the same day, exactly a year ago, when calamitous rains struck the city and life came to a standstill all across.
That was the day when Mumbai-ites suffered untold miseries and there were quite a few causalities also. It was to pay a silent tribute to all of those, who had fallen a helpless prey to the vagaries of nature and the callous indifference of the authorities that be. It was because of the mismanagement of the BMC and related departments that the City had gone into such horrendous disarray by the onslaught of torrential rains.
At that time also, The ITA had registered stringent protest against this apathy of the powers that be, through processions and representations before those who are running the city in such a manner as has made it a virtual hell-hole.
And today, it came out with this silent procession as a mark of remembrance to those who died or went through unprecedented agony .It was a salute to Mumbai.
Anu Ranjan, Shashi Ranjan and many other celebrities participated in the procession including, Anupam Kher, Dipti Naval, Pravin Dabbas, Ashok Pandit etc.
